The service-residential and cultural-domestic complex of buildings and structures of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Finland (Helsinki) was designed in a modern minimalist style and fits seamlessly into the city’s central district with existing historical buildings, and the rational use of the existing relief.
The building cuts into the cliff with a 2-story stylobate sector containing a sports complex with a gym, a workout room and two swimming pools (25-meter swimming pool with three lanes and a children's pool 4x8 meters in size), as well as non-residential, social and cultural rooms (shop, medical center, library, a club, and a children's playroom).
The basement contains a parking lot with a 60 car capacity, car wash and tyre-fitting room. Engineering rooms are located on the basement and technical floors between the parking lot and the first residential floor. A technical basement for engineering equipment and water recirculation technology is located beneath the swimming pool floor.
A three-section residential house containing 80 apartments is constructed over the stylobate section. Permanent residential apartments for the employees of the Consulate of the Russian Federation are located on floors 3, 4, 5 and 6.The building’s three stairwell-elevator blocks connect the residential area to the underground parking lot.
Two roofed terraces are provided for residents on the fifth floor.
Apartments are designed in a single principle: a studio room divided into living room, dining room and kitchen sectors.Every apartment is fitted with a stanza.
The yard is completed with perennial grass plots and annual flower plots, as well as garden benches, urns, designer lamp posts and lesser forms that fit in with the complex’ general style.Children’s playgrounds and leisure areas are located within the designated territory west of the complex.
